Tacos are a traditional Mexican food dish and is one of the most loved foods in the United States. Because of its popularity, a National Taco day has been made. It is celebrated every fourth of October annually. In Mexico where it has originated, Dia del Taco or the Day of Taco is celebrated every year on the 21st of March.
The word taco means “sandwich” in English. The tortilla which is made from wheat or corn flour is used to wrap or fold around a filling that is commonly made of spiced proteins such as beef, pork or fish.
Taco is considered having countless variations that can be created using traditional meats. Many new variations have been spreading replacing the traditional meat with seafood, chicken, beans, cheese, and eggs.
There was a unique variation of Taco where the tortilla is not made from corn or wheat bread but with weaved slices of bacon. Bacon is typically made from pork belly or from back cuts which have less fat than the belly. It is mostly served for breakfast but with this unique food mashup, it will be used as a wrap for the beef filling. Bacon taco shell recipe is shared below.
